Default Auditorium Series Weight

Hi All,

I'm looking to get a new mid size PA system for the summer season, I've been looking at the 315, 312, 215 or the 212 with a 118 per side. However I've got a couple of questions. Firstly, how heavy are they? Also, do any of them have a top hat? I'd like to have one top and one sub a side with a distance pole to make setup clean and easy.

Also, are there any ready available flying systems for any of the above, I see they have the rigging points but I can't seem to see any accessories to fly them on the site.

Many Thanks

Well, I've managed to answer part of the query myself. I've found the flying accessories that I'd need. I'm still yet to find the weights anywhere though.

Also, why is the 315 the cheapest of all the speakers I've listed, even though it appears to share components with the rest of the range?

Josh

Ouch! I had read elsewhere that they were heavy, I didn't realise that they were that heavy!

Looks like I'm going to have to start going to the Gym a bit more. :O

Cheers for the replies, any opinions on which would be a good choice (I know it's subjective) to go along side one 118. I'm liking the idea of the 315 as it's not the heaviest of the ones there but still has the 6.5" mid driver.

It'd be nice to be able to have a listen to them but I'm nowhere near London so that's not really an option.

Cheers Again

Default top hat, subs & sound quality

Hi smalljoshua,

The only box that has a top hat is the 212mb, which is a monitor box. The top hat depth is 900mm. The box weight is 55kg, heavy!
The Subs do not have top hats, so you cannot use them with satelite speakers.
It's best to say the Auditorium range are best for installs and live PA's but be warned they are all heavy, so be fit and do not work with them alone when loading in/out!

How do they sound?
In my opinion they sound very good, but shine best when EQ'd.
They also like power, so do not be faint hearted to push them with power.

For the money Auditoriums are very great value for the sound quality.
If I ever had a sound stage I would install them.
I would think twice for a live PA only because of the weight!
Though I would get them for a live PA; I too would need to hit the gym.

Have fun and tune 'em up!
